Oliver Jeschke

Oliver Jeschke (*1987, Berlin) is a Berlin-based artist working within contemporary Concrete Art. His sculptural practice explores geometric abstraction, materiality, light and spatial perception. Using steel, brass, copper, bronze and gilded surfaces, he develops precisely constructed forms in which geometry becomes a physical experience.

Jeschke’s approach is rooted in precision and reduction. His sculptures are developed through the interplay of geometric structures, material properties and the surrounding space. Polished and reflective surfaces become an active element of the work, capturing and transforming light, movement and their environment. Rather than representing an external subject, the sculptures investigate form itself and the way it is perceived through changing viewpoints.

His artistic practice is closely connected to his background in type design. After training as a signwriter and graphic designer, Jeschke specialized in type design and began developing typefaces in 2009. His work in typography and sculpture shares a common interest in geometry, proportion, rhythm and the precise construction of form. Today, he continues to develop new typefaces alongside his sculptural practice, working with Swiss designers and creative directors.

In recent years, Jeschke has increasingly expanded his work into photography and video, documenting his sculptures and exploring new ways of presenting them. His works have been presented at Art Pavillon ’61 in Berlin.

Jeschke is currently expanding his sculptural practice through new series and limited editions while continuing his work in type design. Upcoming presentations and exhibitions will further explore the relationship between geometric sculpture, material and the spaces in which the works are encountered.
