Blake Ward was born in North West Territories in Canada. Graduated 1979 BFA University of Alberta. Moved to Paris in 1985 to study figurative sculpture.

Early work used traditional figurative methods to represent themes of, dance, mythology, feminism and the human spirit.

In 1998, Blake began his series of “de-sculpted” figures called “Fragments,” followed by his “Rethink” collection, which combined his love for figurative sculpture with a desire for activism.

The Spirits, 2012 – Present have crossed over into the abstract and ethereal realms where Blake creates provocative figures (Angels and Phantoms) expanding the consciousness of our inner selves, in collaboration with sculptor Boky Hackel.

Participating in the evolution of figurative sculpture, the latest work; Andromeda Collection, Â entails partial figures created digitally and 3D printed, then cast in bronze. These continue the artists commentaries on our human condition.
