Kris Demuelenaere
Kris Demuelenaere is a Belgian artist who creates abstract sculptures in natural stone.
He works with alabaster, limestone, Carrara marble and other types of stone, each with its own unique characteristics and beauty. He uses a chisel and a hammer to carve out the hidden forms within the stone, revealing the organic shapes and lines that emerge from his intuition and imagination.
His sculptures are a balance of mass and tension, fluidity and sharpness, light and shadow, abstraction and simplicity. They are not only aesthetic creations, but also a reflection of his personal vision and expression.
The result is a visual puzzle that evoke emotions and sensations in the viewer, inviting them to touch, explore, and connect with in their own way.
He exhibits his work in Belgium and abroad. He has a studio in Brugge, where he lives and works.
