Natural art Drenthe
The main aim of the Drenthe Nature Foundation is to connect art, culture, nature and landscape within the Province of Drenthe in art projects and physics routes.
Nature art Drenthe started making physics routes in 2005 and realized objects and projects in a period of seven years (up to and including 2011 ) with 51 artists from home and abroad in the woods of Schoonoord. In addition to these thematic art and nature walks, the foundation started in 2008 with the five-year project Village Faces. Images from the art and nature walks were relocated or recreated and were given a destination in sight locations in various villages of the municipality of Coevorden ( sixteen natural art sculptures in eight Drenthe villages of the Municipality of Coevorden).
After the well-known natural art routes in the forests of Sleenerzand near Schoonoord and the Village Faces project, Nature Art Drenthe is working on larger permanent art projects in the landscape of Drenthe. This results in so-called GreenArtSpots: art projects that connect landscape, nature and art. The first GreenArtSpot was realized in 2014 near Dalen: GreenArtSpot Driftplein by artists' group Observatory from Rotterdam.
Green art spots
-
In the coming years, Nature Art Drenthe will focus on developing new large-scale art projects in the landscape environment of the province of Drenthe under the name GreenArtSpots. The foundation aims to develop art projects that connect art, culture and nature and landscape at various locations in the province.
With this, Natuurkunst Drenthe wants to strengthen the locations and its surroundings with an art project strongly affiliated with that environment. In addition, the foundation wants to challenge a ( inter- ) nationally working artist and inspire to develop a project that enters into a dialogue with that environment. Resulting in an appealing work of art.

GreenArtSpots are art projects that are inspired by the location and environment and / or enter into a dialogue with it. This can be an intervention in the landscape, an addition or removal of parts. It does something with the cultural values of the location ( of the present, the future or the history ), reinforces this or contrasts with it. The artist is free to choose his or her own perspectives, which can also include the social, cultural, economic or political context of the location. GreenArtSpots lets you look at the environment differently through the art projects. You can see it from a distance, but you can also move it in or near it. On-site experience is essential. In addition, the physical shelf life of the art project of at least ten years is a precondition.
Workshops
-
Atelier | Helderrood organizes workshops for groups. The starting point is that we offer each group a creative and artistic meeting to measure.
The workshops of Atelier | Helderrood are an extension of the artistry of Ellen Kroeze and Dick Lubbersen. Both are active in the field of painting, mixed media and Dick is also a landscape artist. He makes nature art and art in the landscape.
Land art nature art workshop
Nature and the landscape, ‘ the most beautiful studio there is ’. It is big, of us all and very varied. It has everything in it: materials in abundance, inspiring locations, ever-changing conditions and above all ‘ it lives ’.
From that situation you will work during a workshop on land art nature art. What can you do with the materials you find on the spot? How are you going to arrange, group or hang them? How important is color and composition in a ‘ outdoor painting ’? All things that you have to deal with and where Dick Lubbersen takes you and guides you from his experiences.
There are several options in this and the duration of a workshop is also variable. A morning, afternoon or evening workshop lasts 3 hours, a day workshop 6 hours.
