The museum and restaurant are 12 minutes walk from train station Sittard (South of the Netherlands, close to the German border).

About Autopia – Olaf Mooij

In sculptures and installations, Olaf Mooij (1958, Rotterdam) highlights our intimate relationship with the car and its consequences. ''People have a personal connection with the car. They will do anything for it.'' Olaf Mooij was already fascinated by cars as a child. His entire body of work is dedicated to our relationship with the car. This made him internationally famous. Autopia shows his most important sculptures and installations. In The Temple of Doom, Mooij sums up the problems of our time. Our glorification of the car. Our dependence on oil and the impact of fossil fuels on climate change.
