Rettet den Wald! Save the forest! Red het bos! shows how eco artists in the whole world reflect on our relation with nature, come into action, or plant trees. Get inspired!
The Dialogue with curator Anne Berk, vice-chairman of sculpture network and curator of the exhibition takes place on the Day of Climate March 2021.

About Rettet den Wald! Save the Forest! Red het bos!

Some artists mourn the loss of nature and try to heal it, such as Berlinde De Bruyckere with Cripplewood. They invent rituals or physically link themselves with nature, such as our member Fleur van den Berg in Plantwoman, or Uýra Sodoma, who tranforms in the soul of the rainforest, to draw attention to the deforestation of the Amazone. Others document the loss of woodlands, such as Chris Watson, with his field recording of the last rainforest in Madagascar.
Other artists advocate action, or plant trees. Cecylia Malik initiated the Facebook action Polish Mothers on Tree Stumps, that went viral. Joseph Beuys planted 7,000 oaks in Kassel, while Sara Vrugt aims to plant 100,000 trees with 100,000 trees and a forest of thread! It was embroidered by 1,000 volunteers, with the option to domate to the TreeSisters.
