Sculpture, the way of expression for living. The way of connecting with the people. The way of making spaces more human.
Urban Arcitectural sculpture. The work of recent years is based on the human being, in his way of expressing himself, his movements, the way of presenting himself in his social environment that often leads to the confrontation between man and his environment where appears violence, repression and cruelty of man with his fellow men and that is repeated cyclically in history. Isolation, loneliness, lack of dialogue, misunderstanding are recurring themes within the work that runs through series that follow one another or intertwine over time.
In an experimental way, the work has been carried out mainly with recycled packaging cardboard, collected from the street, especially on the days that businesses can take their merchandise packaging to the street, normal cardboard, and some clay and occasionally with wood, to reinforce some structure or in the bases. The finishes have been mostly acrylic paint but different works have also been carried out with marble dust or Tetra Brick packaging.
The concept of Arte Povera is closely linked to the base of the work carried out by the use of very basic materials and tools and also the concept of Minimalism by trying to simplify the figure as much as possible and achieve a strong expression with minimal elements.
The combination of the concepts mentioned at the beginning that have been developed in the years before the Covid, with the real isolation that has occurred as a result of the pandemic, and the recent recovery of the relationship with technology and the industrial world make the artist as the protagonist of his action and at the same time as a subject of reflection on his relationships with his environment and in his work, mixing the world of trades and technological processes without forgetting the minimalist and Arte Povera concepts. He is not a being external to his work but ends up being the protagonist of it, experientially indivisible.

The leitmotif of the work realized in these years focuses on the human figure, the way in which he expresses himself, his movements and how he relates to his environment, often related to the confrontation between him and his environment that always leads to violence, the repression and the cruelty of power against the people that is repeated cyclically in history. Isolation and loneliness, lack of dialogue and misunderstanding are recurring themes expressed in the work that goes in series that follow one another or are intertwined in time.
The concept of Arte Povera is linked to the work carried out with the use of basic materials and tools and related also to the concept of Minimalism simplifying the figure to its limits and achieving a strong expression with minimal elements.
The work carried out is linked to the concept of Arte Povera through the use of basic materials and tools and also to the concept of Minimalism, with the simplification of the figure to the limit, achieving a strong expression with minimal elements.
Even though the work is completely defined by these two concepts, two others can be added; Brutalism through the expressive violence that the works, reduced to their minimum expression, manage to extract from the creative base within. The simpler the figure, the cruder the reality it expresses, without traps or veils. The idea of going to the base removing everything that could be superfluous, a constant in the work, has appeared even more clearly in recent series where the only material used is bare cardboard.
And Rationalism because nothing that has been done has been improvised; the different stages have been developed to build on them the following steps. They are all steps that need constant planning and organization without leaving anything to chance.
As for the work done, the theme varies constantly since it is a way of constantly forcing the imagination, with the need to have several projects in a row waiting to be developed when one is finished without interruption; or even develop two or three different projects at the same time to keep your mind always working. Where the passion is, there must be work and more work.
Within all these variables, the human figure is the center of the work and the human being and his ability or not to relate to others is the constant that relates everything. Expressed in different states of abstraction and in different ways of relating to others, solitude being a constant that ends up giving order to the entire work.
The combination of the concepts developed before the Covid, more evident on the periods of lockdown, came at the time when the work was evolving, expanding and beginning the relationship with technology and the industrial world, making the creative worker the protagonist of his action; at the same time a subject of reflection on his relation with the environment and on his work, mixing the world of trades and technological process with the concepts used at the beginning of Minimalism and Arte Povera.
The work that continued to move between the values of decomposition, loneliness and movement in a moment of personal confinement, prior to the pandemic, opens as a reaction against Covid to new personal ideas and a different vision of work adding values of movement and exercise, to fight against the stagnation in the pandemic. Dancing and training become healing motifs. Exercise of cleansing of mind and body and of movement, related to music, functioning as a personal instrument and also as a way of relating to others by sharing experiences
Exercise 1
After the year of pandemic where everybody was quite recluded in there homes I saw the need to express that even with restrictions we had to look forwar an think on the future with energy and even the pandemic being with us we needed to feel free. The feeling of exercising ment this effort to make a stronger body and a clearer mind; to be healthy and prepared for new challanges, thinking always that one can achieve them. Aftra a wor related directed to the Covid this new work ment the change of state of mind needed.

from a new series from this year "Les Danseurs" that is paralell to the series of Exercise 1, that comes of the thinking that dancing alliberates the mind and helps and heels the body. necessary after this year and a hald of confinement, even is not allowed in big groups, the idea of dancing comes on a way of alliberating the the tensions produced by the pandemic

The feeling of being alone even being together is a constant on my work. the two figures are the same and together slightly separate and slightly delayed expressing the solitude that can exist sharing a same existance. They are together no doubt but not really related, looking to the front in different moments expressing the diificulties of really sharing the future together

Pas de deux Nº 1
The Series "Les Danseurs" comes from the idea that actually after the pandemic people need to alliberate the mind and reax the body exercising. The concept of the dance is to comunicate and share while alliberating tensions and dramas brought by the pandemic. Music and dancing can act as therapy for releasing tensions
