Unveiling 8th land art monument of Flevoland

The festive opening of Riff, PD #18245, a land art monument celebrating 100 years of the Zuiderzee Act, will take place on Saturday 12 October 2019. On behalf of the Province of Flevoland and artist Bob Gramsma, we cordially invite you join the unveiling of Riff, PD #18245, the 8th land art project of Flevoland.

The program starts at 13.30 hrs at Beachclub NU (Bremerbergdijk 10, 8256 RD Biddinghuizen) which is near the artwork.

100 years of the Zuiderzee Act
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Zuiderzee Act, Bob Gramsma created in collaboration with Walt+Galmarini AG the monument Riff, PD#18245. Just like the polder, the artwork is created in several phases, each of which was important for the creation and meaning of the artwork. Like an archaeological find, the monument reminds of the special geology and the history of Flevoland. Riff, PD#18245 is a cast of the mark made by Gramsma in the Flevo polder soil; as such, it reflects the reclamation and artificiality of the polder.

We look forward to explore the artwork with you, and look out over the old and the new land. Children can make their own small ‘Riffs’ during the opening. The program starts at 14.00 hrs.
