„Die menschliche Figur in Zeit und Raum“ beschäftigt Bettina Kohlen bereits von Beginn an ihrer Arbeit.  In Ihren Bronzen fasziniert sie zum einen das Studium des Bewegungsapparates am menschlichen Körper. In Zeit und Raum setzt sie die verschiedenen Lebensphasen des Menschen um. Es gilt, die eigene „Balance“ des Lebens zu finden. Die Darstellung erfolgt naturalistisch bis abstrakt. Im keramischen Bereich arbeitet sie figürlich und objektbezogen. Hier stehen mehr das Experimentieren mit den verschiedenen Brandtechniken sowie die technische Bearbeitung der Oberflächen im Fokus. Auch Fundstücke, wie Eisen oder Stein werden gern mit Keramik kombiniert. Bettina Kohlen lebt und arbeitet in Korntal und unterrichtet in ihrem Atelier Gestaltung mit Ton, Oberflächenbearbeitung und unterschiedliche Brenntechniken. Sie hat verschiedene Lehraufträge u.a. bei der Handwerkskammer Stuttgart.

MODULES II
The cuboid-like shape is a modified Platonic volume. It becomes a module in an architectural structure or a setting that can be hidden or visible. Inspired by the traces of old buildings one might find in an ancient place, the installation calls to mind how these crumbling individual components now only serve as silent witnesses. However, at one time may have been the key element of a wall, or ceiling, etc. Regardless of their prior functionality, the aesthetic potential overrides the previous story.

It is a call for more mindfulness and respect towards nature, especially water, the life-sustaining and life-giving element. Climate change does not differentiate people by skin color, religion or ethnicity, rich or poor. Climate change forces humanity to work together and requires contributions from everyone to make life in this world more livable. What shall we eat tonight?
People concern the natural catastrophe, when they see them on a television. However, their concern will be declined as the news ends and then it will be replaced with their daily life. “OK, now switch off the television, everyone! Time for a dinner! What shall we eat tonight?” “hmm..What shall I wear for the party tomorrow?” People feel our planet became warmer. However climate change progress little by little and people has an ability to adopt them into new temperature. But when they aware of the impact not on television but in front of them, it will be too late and adopting into new temperature is not endless. It is not necessary to threat people every day by showing problems, but it is also meaningful time to time to bring the issues to concern.
