Resembling a fragment of wood, this sculpture is crafted from terracotta clay, fired at 1150 degrees
In this work, the inorganic material of earth is brought into dialogue with the organic form of a branch. The sculpture is made from terracotta clay and evokes the trace of a living form, a branch that has fallen from a tree or been broken off. Like clay, wood is a material deeply embedded in human cultural history, shaped and used by people for centuries.
