The right of peoples to self-determination.
Article 1 of the German Basic Law:
Human dignity shall be inviolable.
Never Again Is Now.
These statements form the normative foundation of modern societies.
They are historical experiences,
political promises,
and moral obligations.
The drawings confront this claim
with war, violence,
antisemitism, and social brutalization.
Ideals and reality overlap.
What becomes visible
is how the vision of a more humane world
repeatedly shatters against the present.
