Emilio Timp
In his work, Emilio Timp (1993) plays with biomorphic forms and simplistic movement. His pieces often establish a relationship with the natural world, responding for instance to wind or temperature. A profound desire for harmony and a fascination with the aesthetic experience fuel his creative practice, with the theme of balance serving as a recurring central element.
Emilio studied mechanical engineering before applying to art school to study product design. Throughout this period and up to the present day, the act of making has remained at the core of his life. His focus shifted from the functional to the conceptual, eventually evolving into biomorphic abstract sculptures and suspended, structural installations. Timp frequently incorporates various types of metal. Utilizing diverse forms, dimensions, and finishing techniques ranging from cold-forged copper and cast bronze to welded steel and precision mechanical processes.
