Dear sculpture lover,
Sculpture Network was founded by the artist Hartmut Stielow, with the help of the businessman Ralf Kirberg. After 20 years, we are the leading network for three-dimensional art in Europe, with 800 members in 40 countries.
Sculpture Network is a non-profit organisation that connects artists, art professionals, collectors and lovers of sculpture in Europe and beyond. We promote sculpture through our website, social media and our newsletter. And we organise live and online events, where people can meet, share ideas and contacts.
Ten coordinators organise Dialogues in their countries. People can participate in The Online Club, that draws a growing number of people. In 2023, the European sculpture community gathered for the International Sculpture Forum organised by us in Málaga (Spain).
Sculpture Network is a lively international organisation, based in Munich. Most of us work online, and sometimes we meet. The photo below was taken in Amsterdam, where the Executive Board met with the Curatorial Board, our two staff members, and our international team of coordinators.

We are looking for a Chairperson of the Board (voluntary), who represents the association and binds the team together. Being a Chairperson is an exciting and responsible job, bringing inspiring contact with the international sculpture scene, the possibility to take part in our events and to work with a team of self propelled, highly competent colleagues.

Honorary Chairperson of the Board of Sculpture Network
Sculpture Network is a European non-profit organisation for the support and promotion of three-dimensional art. We value the contribution of sculpture to society: sculpture, light art, installations, land art and related forms of three-dimensional expression. For 20 years, we have been facilitating the networking of various groups in this thriving scene, from art lovers, artists, collectors, curators and students to museums, galleries and service providers.
They all meet virtually on our platform or in person at our events.
At Sculpture Network, we offer our members the opportunity to make contacts, we promote teamwork and set high standards for professional behaviour.
Executive Board
The Executive Board is responsible for the organisation of the association, its finances, its staff and its events. Following the re-establishment in March 2021 and a subsequent consolidation phase, we are now ready to take Sculpture Network to the next level and are looking for a successor to the current Chair of the Board, who will step down on 1 April 2024.
Your profile
- Interest in the arts including 3D
- A heart for people and management skills
- Balanced, overview, decisive.

- Able to connect with artists as well as businesspeople.
- Excellent English speaker, writer
- Experience in leading people at a distance
- Business acumen
- Available for 10 hours a week
Plusses are:
- Basic German language ability
- Some knowledge of ICT

Responsibilities
- Representing the association on a professional and social level
- Broad strategic as well as operational direction of the association
- Set pace and create focus.
- Continuous development of the organisation.
- Chair meetings of Executive Board.
- Connect the different segments of the organisation: members, free lancers, volunteers, country coordinators, office, Executive Board, Curatorial Board.
- Lead the Munich based office managers in good working atmosphere
