Jose Carlos Rivera

In a world increasingly accelerated and digitized as well as in a contemporary more nomad society, I'm focused on questioning the conceptions of traveling, traverse of the space and presence. How we relate to our territory. How we move, occupy and situate within the surrounding space, the natural world. I'm motivated by the explorer of the Grand Tour, the Flâneur and the Surrealist Dérives.
Concepts related to experiencing the landscape and traveling towards knowledge, the sublime and the process itself as a subject of the work. Thus, I'm currently interested in telling a story in a different way, pointing the concepts mentioned throughout specific locations and crossing different disciplines using the action as the first step. I believe that in a world full of images without filters, noise or complaints, the best weapon is trying to show the beauty of the world in where we live.
