Candice Lin

Her work deals with the question: which impact does colonial history have on our life together today? Colonial history means: many countries in Europe used to think: their population is worth more than the population of other countries.

For her exhibition in OsnabrĂĽck, she is creating an enchanting installation in the old church. It is about language and translations. Machines will emit scent. And talismanic objects will be hanging from the ceiling. How does the Talisman work? How does it heal or protect me? Which rituals are there with these talismans? Where have these rituals been misconstrued and mistranslated?

Candice Lin uses materials like fabric, dried plants, copper, and silver. In her exhibition she shows: the history of people all over the world is entangled. Personally, and through our shared history.
