Ruud Kuijer's sculptures (born in 1959) are about physicality and abstraction, mass and volume, physical presence and materiality, and gravity. The artist is interested in the traditions of sculpture (weight, material, and movement in space), but he always wants to push boundaries and find new combinations. His goal: to get to the core of what sculpture is.
