Trigon - ‘Triangular Shape’

The veins in this Picasso Marble sculpture are more reminiscent of Jackson Pollock’s paintings than those of Pablo Picasso, for whom the stone was named. I’ve always wondered at the choice the geologist used to name this stone, while marveling at its geological beauty. A trigon is also an ancient triangular harp of Asian origin, which had four strings and was often used for banquet music. Stone has a melody, and I have a voice. We play and sing together.
